What We Are Reading Now

on March 16, 2013

Our family read-aloud is The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan.

6th grader: Middleworld and The Hobbit

3rd grader:  Detectives in Togas and The Tiger’s Apprentice

Preschooler: His current favorites are A Fly Went By and Caps for Sale as well as any book about Clifford.

Me: Understanding Exposure

I need to find a good novel to devour. Lately my focus has been on non-fiction and I am in need of some good fiction for balance. I will welcome any suggestions. 🙂

What are you and your family reading now?

I am reading The Egg and I by Betty MacDonald. It’s hilarious and an easy read. Our new family read starting tomorrow night will be the entire Chronicles of Narnia. Can’t wait for it to arrive! How long do you do family reading each day and when do you find the time? Just wondering how this might look for our family.

  2. Thank you for the suggestion, I will check it out. 🙂 Our family reading time usually takes place during school hours, but sometimes at bed time as well. The amount that I read varies based on how much other work we have to do and also what is happening in the story. Sometimes we have to keep reading to see what happens! 😉

Understanding Exposure is an excellent choice, I am reading The Maine Reader, the Down East Experience from 1614 to the Present, it is truly fascinating, not a novel but still. We are reading The Candy Shop War by Brandon Mull for our family read aloud, It is a bit darker then I was expecting.
